NEWLYN PRIMARY SCHOOL

A Map of AustraliaNewlyn is a small farming community in central Victoria, producing principally potatoes. Many other crops are also grown in the area as well as the grazing of sheep and cattle.

The township of Newlyn is located approximately 30 Km north of the regional city of Ballarat. The township is now also developing as a residential area for commuters to Ballarat.

The Primary School, No. 453, has provided formal education to the children of the community since 1858. The school works in cooperation with other small schools in the region in a group known as the Seven Hills Cluster, sharing resources and knowledge and providing the students with socialisation experiences with group camps, excursions and specialist curriculum and sporting days.
